Throughout this term in photography I have tried to incorporate mood into more of my work because I find it fun and fascinating to take photos or edit them to create a specific emotion. I want the viewers to feel a certain emotion that is portrayed in my art piece as they look at it. For example in my final piece tried to juxtapose the sea with lines and that would work to carry the viewer’s eyes across the seascape with a rhythm that is melancholy. The lines work to point to the spots which give the viewer a place to settle and meditate on as they can imagine the waves of the sea spilling in and out from where they are standing, rocking them calmly.
To get ideas for my artwork I usually find some inspiration from the work of other artists or just on Internet. I try to apply those ideas to my own life to create my own unique pieces of artwork. For example, when I did the art show visit I saw an image edited with spot color where most of the photograph is in black-and-white except for a single object that is in color. I then took pictures of a flower bush near my house and edited the photos so the flowers and leaves were in bright color but the branches and background was either in black-and-white or had a very low vibrance and saturation. To make the photo more unique I tried to use focus to create a different perspective, some of my photos had the focus on the foreground, background or a single flower. I found that I really liked editing this way and eventually used the same concept with the photo I chose to frame. Without art, I would also be a different person and I cannot imagine what my life would be without art. I have taken every available art class and like to spend time looking at and making art in my spare time. In the future I hope to continue to improve in my photography skills and create more unique and creative art pieces. I want to try and take more photos of landscapes and my life around me and continue to edit my photos to make them look better yet still realistic. I also want to continue to create a theme or story with my artwork so it can have an impact on the viewer
